An olive grove…thousands and thousands of trees, some with olives and some just planted.

We needed to stop for a picnic lunch…….this seemed a good place, in the end it was nearly dusk before we left !!

These two joined us for lunch…..but were far too busy rooting through leaves to investigate any food we had….

Its diet ginger beer….yum!

These are Hibiscus trees……..I have the same at home, its about 100x smaller….

This is a representation of the coolamon bowl used by the Aboriginal people, they are used to carry, food or fuel and can be balanced on the head, using a ring of grass underneath. This is ch larger than any others we saw.

The mother let me get very close, but as she had a joey nearby I was very cautious .

These black parrots were very noisy…

Duck and Purple Swamp hen.

Grass tree……..grow about 1mm per year…….this one was VERY old..as its bark and textured underleave shows.


Koala enclosure…….we were in the wrong area to see koalas in the wild, but these looked well cared for as they snoozed in the trees and the scent of the eucalyptus was almost overwhelming

     We have seen these little black and white birds everywhere we go…..now on top of the kangaroos !!
